Google Assistant works with Google Maps, letting you find your way around using voice commands. Just say “OK Google, directions to ” or “navigate home.” It will automatically open Google Maps navigation and calculate the easiest route. Do note that to make calls, you’ll need to have Web & App activity turned on in your Google Account page. This is on by default, but if you’ve turned it off, calls will not function. How to make calls on your Nest Audio, Mini, or Hub
You can still access music from any of the other services by asking for it by name. For Google Duo, you'll only be able to video call a contact that also has Google Duo. If you aren't sure if the person you want to call has Google Duo, you can open the Google Duo app directly on your smartphone and search the list of contacts at the top. Below the contacts with Duo that show under the 'Connect with Duo' section, you'll see a list of the rest of your contacts without Duo under the 'Invite to Duo' section. It's one of their simplest features that is one of their best though - video and voice calls.
With the original Google Home, you can tap the top of the device. Better yet, different family members can pick different voices, and Google will switch which one responds based on who's talking. Once you're all setup with Google Duo, making a video call using the Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max is very simple. WithinMy activity,you can get a voice recording of the query used to start the call, or queries used to interact with the Assistant such as “Hey Google, hang up.” Nothing else is recorded. "What is the nearest ?" then "Hey Google, call them." You will get a prompt to add the name and number to your Google contacts.

By default, Home will generate a randomized number when you use it to make a call. To keep this from happening, you’ll want to link your phone number to Google Home—it’s super easy for Project Fi or Google Voice customers, but you can also link a non-Fi/Voice number too. Google-supported calling and carrier calling do not support incoming calls. Let’s follow the steps below to set up your Google Home’s Speaker for voice calls.

As of now, you can finally place audio calls to your Google Home smart speakers via Google Duo. If you want to use your Nest speakers or displays to make calls to personal contacts though, there are a couple of steps you need to do first. The products are so interconnected that it’s easy to mistake one for the other. The Nest Hub Max has a built-in Nest Cam, so it can detect motion when you're away and send you an alert. If you sign up for Nest's premium Nest Aware service, you can get alerts based on who the camera sees. You can also use the cam for video calls, and it can pan, tilt and zoom to keep you in frame. The cam can recognize gestures, so you can play or pause music by looking at the Hub Max and holding up your hand.
Google Assistant will in turn respond in the language you use. Prepare in advance for this by checking that your phone and Home Hub are on the same Google account. To access the feature, your phone will however need to be connected to the internet. Remember that for calling contacts, you will need to have setup Personal Results and given access to your contacts. For calling a Google-listed business, you can just search for them and say "Hey Google, call them". The person you're calling needs to be stored in Google Contacts for things to work so the next step is to sync your contacts to your Google Nest speaker or hub.
